Our Mission

At Hepius vintage, our mission is to provide people with vintage, second-hand clothing of high quality and superb esthetic value, at an affordable price, while making shopping a pleasurable experience and avoiding the destruction of valuable goods.

Hepius was a figure in Greek mythology. He was born a mortal and perfected the craft of medicine up to the point where he was able to revive others. In doing so, he angered Zeus who killed Hepius in reaction. Later, however, Hepius himself came back to life, rising from the dead, not as a mortal any longer, but now as a God.

The story of Hepius inspires and motivates us in pursuing our mission. We give new life to clothes of which we believe they have stood the test of time with such excellency, that not only are they still in sufficient condition, but also their esthetic value has reached new heights. As such, both the mythological story and Hepius Vintage bathe in the ethos of revival, resurrection and improvement.

The value we create at Hepius Vintage comes from three major sources:

First, we believe that clothes make the man: The way one presents him- or herself is a pivotal part of oneself. Clothing allows an idividual express his or her taste and perception of beauty to others. Moreover, aligning your inner perceptions of beauty with the clothes that drape your skin radiates an inward feeling of confidence and helps you winning in life. The clothes we sell are carfefully sourced based on their quality and esthetic value so that they can contribute to this aspect of life for our clients.

Second, we contribute to a more sustainable planet by reducing wastefulness. This is especially relevant in the clothing industry:

  • “Fashion is the second most polluting industry in the world, coming just after oil.” ¹

  • The fashion industry consumes 1.5 trillion (!) liters of water every year. ²

  • From the water that is needed to produce one cotton t-shirt, an average person can drink 2.5 years (2,700 liters) ¹

  • The fashion industry causes 20% of global clean water pollution ¹

  • 70 Million trees are cut down each year to make our clothes” ²

  • 87% Of clothes end up as waste in landfill or are incinerated” ¹

  • The fashion industry is responsible for the emission of 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gasses every year ³

By prolonging the lifetime of the clothes we resell, we actively contribute to diminishing these effects the industry has on our planet, and help in providing a worthy future for generations to come.

At last, we want to give people a fun shopping experience. That is, we want our shopping experience to be effortless. We don't overcharge our clients an infinite amount of promotional advertisements and try to make our marketing fun for everyone by doing a lot of giveaways and creative campaigns. Of course, a pleasurable experience also means an impeccable customer service and helping our clients in any way possible would issues occur.

Located in Antwerp, Belgium we pursue our mission ruthelessly, never accepting anything but the best for our clients.
